You’re Scorecard Hasn’t Changed in a Year – Why?

Mark Stanley

Can I ask you something?

When was the last time you really looked at your Scorecard?

Not just reviewed the numbers. I mean stepped back and asked, “Are these still the right numbers?”

If your Scorecard hasn’t changed in a year, there’s a good chance your business has. Even if it doesn’t feel like it day to day.

Priorities shift. Focus evolves. What mattered 12 months ago might not be what moves the needle today.

And when your numbers don’t keep up, you start managing yesterday’s business.

Look at it this way.

Your Scorecard is supposed to help you see around corners. It should give you an early warning when something is off.

But it can only do that if the numbers reflect where you’re going now. Not where you were.

Here’s a simple place to start.

Pick one number. Just one.

Ask yourself, “If this number improved every week, would it actually help us hit our goals?”

If the answer isn’t a clear yes, it might be time to update it.

You don’t need to overhaul everything. Just begin.

If you want help working through this, Angela Kalemis and I are facilitating an upcoming Data Workshop.

We’ll walk you through how to build a Scorecard that actually drives the business forward.

Sign up, bring your current Scorecard, and we’ll help you tune it so it works for you again.

Stay on track,

Mark Stanley
